Unlocking The Doors – An Australian Tribute to The Doors
Straight out of Wollongong, Unlocking The Doors is one of Australia’s most authentic and
electrifying tribute acts, capturing the raw energy, hypnotic poetry, and psychedelic spirit of Jim
Morrison and The Doors.
Revered for their immersive live shows, the band continues to wow audiences across the country
with a faithful recreation of The Doors' iconic sound and era-defining performances. From the
wild intensity of "Break On Through" to the haunting mysticism of "Riders on the Storm", this is
a show that truly brings the legend to life.
"We love showing people just how brilliant The Doors were — and how intoxicating Jim
Morrison was on stage."
– Rich (aka ‘Jim’)
A long-time devotee of The Doors, frontman Rich channels Morrison’s presence with uncanny
authenticity — a poetic, primal, and magnetic performance that feels like stepping into the past.
The band’s sound hinges on musical precision and passion. Sandy conjures the spirit of Ray
Manzarek with stunning accuracy, simultaneously handling swirling organ lines and hypnotic
keyboard bass — a feat that re-creates The Doors’ unique no-bassist setup.
On guitar, Mick brings a mix of classical finesse and rock power, fingerpicking his Gibson SG
with reverence for Robby Krieger’s unmistakable tone — from the gritty grooves of "5 to 1" to
the moody tremolo of "The End."
Completing the lineup, Lee locks in the pulse on drums, masterfully interpreting John
Densmore’s jazz-infused, Latin-tinged rhythms — a crucial element of The Doors' genre-defying
sound.
More than 50 years since their debut album, The Doors remain influential, controversial, and
timeless. Unlocking The Doors doesn’t just pay tribute — they reignite the fire, inviting
audiences old and new to experience the magic all over again.
Come and see why fans and critics alike are calling Unlocking The Doors one of the finest Doors
tributes in the Southern Hemisphere.
“If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is – infinite.”
– William Blake
