That’s What She Said! was formed in 1996 by Nazareth’s finest Yr 12 music students and friends: Joe Bal (vocals/guitar), Tim Bazely (drums) and Jason Herft (vocals/bass).
Performing at a number of school events throughout the year, the band would tear through classics from artists such as Hendrix, Santana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Alanis Morrisette. The band would occasionally feature performances by either Joanne or Adam, as guest vocalists.
The band unofficially ended on Sun 1 Dec 1996, after playing the Holden Staff Christmas Party.
1999 was the start of That’s What She Said! as an original funk outfit with Adam Juricev officially joining the band.
From 1999 to 2003, That’s What She Said! became part of the Melbourne music scene, which included driving anywhere for radio interviews, gigs and studio recordings (from Rockland Studios to Triple M).
The bands end in 2003 lead to the beginning of Hyphen (fronted by the talented 12 Sandwiches) and Deadly Are The Naked. Enough said.
It wasn’t until May 2025, nearly 22 years later from their last show, That’s What She Said! started rehearsing initially through WhatsApp and delivered a classic live show at The Bergy Bandroom.
30 years later, That’s What She Said! are hosting a FREE all-ages afternoon show for family and friends at Sooki Lounge, celebrating the good times and festive season.
