This event celebrates the launch of the Quickfix’s new album ‘Day Dream of a Recluse’. For various reasons, the completion of this project has been interrupted for too long but the wait is over and the new music is to be released into the universe in style. The band born out of Belgrave South decades returns to the stage where it all started as Sooki Lounge hosts the promotion of a third studio album. Please join the band for an entertaining evening featuring a number of local acts. It’s going to be a ripper!

Coconut Shy began as the indie/folk alt-rock solo project of singer-songwriter Joseph Mackey before evolving into a full four-piece band in 2025 when Dylan Noble, Timothy Chivers and Matt Meehan-Lam joined the party. Drawing inspiration from the heartfelt sweep of Coldplay’searly records, the storytelling finesse of Dire Straits, the sun-soaked indie energy of Spacey Jane, and the rousing folk-rock spirit of Mumford & Sons, Coconut Shy crafts songs that balance intimacy with impact.Their sound moves effortlessly between soft, introspective moments and soaring, hook-laden choruses that demand to be sung at the top of your lungs. These are songs made for campfire singalongs, long coastal drives, and quiet afternoons while the rain taps against the window.

THE QUICKFIX  band has been together since its members were just 12 and 13 years old. The Quickfix have recorded over 100 tracks over the years and have now had multiple releases with the original four track demo EP in 2008, the 2013 album, ‘Crossing Lines’, the 2015 ‘Decade of Demos’ and now the band have two new full scale albums coming out with ‘Day Dreams of a Recluse’ with all of the best song written and recorded over the most recent decade. The other album coming out is called ‘The Fix’ and essentially it consists of the best of our recordings prior to this new album with some songs reworked (fixed). The band does not play live a lot due to other commitments including sport so, when they are playing live, be sure to get there.

The band pride themselves on song writing so have a listen because you may just hear something you really like. This performance will feature: Graham Bergroth -lead vocals, guitarJessica Ball -keysChris Fielder -bass, vocalsPeter Carr -drums, vocalsHowever, there will some special guests including past members so be there to celebrate the music of the Quickfix of the past and present.
