Why we’re doing this:
You may know Caity Watson as magician behind the decks and wizard behind the scenes running events, connecting people and championing diversity in the Naarm techno scene through 150 BPM and 150% Live.
You may not know that Caity has several chronic health conditions that kick her butt every day. This year her health stuff has snowballed and she is now facing several surgeries and medical treatments all in the space of a couple of months to simply maintain quality of life. She has had to cancel paid work, uni, firefighting, events, festivals and gigs to focus on her health.
Caity appears to be a badass, compassionate warrior on the outside but not many people know that this has taken a huge toll her on her usual upbeat spirit. Caity has gathered and nurtured a beautiful community of music lovers and excellent humans and we are now gathering all her favourite people, asking her community to give back if they can.
If you’ve ever danced your heart out, made a new friend, or felt wholehearted acceptance thanks to Caity, please consider supporting her while she goes through this rough time.
Funds raised will go to directly to Caity to help with treatment, medication, appointments and general life expenses while she steps back from paid work.
Accessibility: There is wheelchair access at the front entry on Burwood Hwy. If you have accessibility requirements, please see Sooki staff on arrival or call 9754 7567.
No dickheads policy: This is an inclusive event and everybody has the right to feel safe here. Antisocial behaviour, homophobia, transphobia, racism and being a creep are all dickhead behaviours and will strictly not be tolerated.
Safety: if you experience or witness antisocial or dangerous behaviour, please speak up. You can report to a member of the event crew, Sooki staff or security, or ask to speak to the manager on duty.
